Miss nurse in training says that having the tongue out is 'indicative of down syndrome' ... no, I am not such. I'm just so relaxed my tongue flops out when I sleep! I wonder what I was dreaming about though? It must have been pretty vivid considering my leg spasms hahaha

Alternative ways of Drying Off
As cute as it is, I don't like the towel as much as I LOVE to roll around on things to dry off
Puppy + Towel = CuteBundleOfJoy
I don't mind baths, but the getting dry part I'm not yet used to. I shiver under blankets until I warm up and dry off... but I'll become a real water-loving dog soon enough
Vacuum Attack! ! !
I don't like vacuums, I hope this isn't a sign that i'm afraid of loud things... I heard I'm being trained against it now just in case
I learned PAW!
For some reason, no one really seems to believe it when I learn something new. So, we end up showcasing my skills off whereever we go. I don't mind doing it over and over again because i like pleasing my owners - and I get treats every once in a while. Manchita looks on, saying to herself "This Sadie is silly, I don't do any tricks - not even sit - and i still get whatever I want!"

Staircase of Doom
Sure it's cold out, but I'm a girl: I like Fashion!
Taking away food and Sit
At least once a day, my owners take my food away as I'm eating. Because I'm such a smart dog breed, I know that they're teaching me the importance of obedience and patience even while there's food out. They're just reminding me who's boss and the meal providers, and making sure I'm not aggressive when I get older... not just around food, but in almost all situations! At the same time things like Sit are taught to me too. I'm going to be such a good dog!
I'm Hungry!
First, that big round thing is just my vitamin waffer that gets broken up for me so I actually eat it (my breeder insisted that the NuVet vitamins would be critical to my health, so my owners were more than willing to supply me with it! - payroll?) But, yea, at only 9 weeks I'm an eating machine (2-3 times a day) and this mid-day meal is something I always look forward to since my owners keep me so active throughout the day... mmmyumyums!
Instinct?
I think my owner was trying to catch me in my hopelessness atop the two terrifying steps in the backyard that I refuse to walk down. All of a sudden, a morning dove swoops in and catches my attention... I lock on. That special Labrador Retriever trait is kicking in! And at such a young age, only 9 weeks!!
Showdown Trinity: Up, Up, & AWAY!
After much taunting from Manchi, I was starting to think I couldn't get her... until the unthinkable happened, the springs in my hind legs unlocked!
Haha, make sure you listen for Manchita's whining and crying... she's so my friend!
Showdown Part Deux
The Chase found its way over to the couch/footon on which Manchita knew she had an advantage over me (since I don't have what it takes to jump up onto things). I think she was having fun at my expense...
The Showdown: Match begins
A mini showdown errupted after the Toilet Paper game. Why? I don't really know. but the resulting outcome was hilarious.
Hide & Go Seek Play Time: Toilet Paper Roll
Here I am playing with the toilet paper roll with Manchi wathcing me from a safe height atop the bed... oh, and I'll show you my new cave for hanging out (which is now blocked off since I'm kind of a pain to get out, hehe)
PS: I know, product placement for Nutro... but the stuff really is good for me! It makes my joints strong, my hips work well (considering theyre a problem for us Labs late in life), makes my coat shiny and soft (really, I'm extra cuddley), and gives me the energy to run my owners into the ground! Sooooooo, can I get on payroll Nutro? Haha
There's something about car rides...
that I don't really like - at first.
***Sorry for the whole sideways thing, I couldn't figure out how to get the camera to flip videos to the proper position... and the software won't want to install on my Windows Vista even when it says it's compatible. Lesson to learn, Nikon has cool features but can be a hassle!
Hahahahahahaha!

Playing Outside with Manchi (Day II)
There wasn't too much tension this time with my new friend Manchi. This time, we played a mutual cat and mouse game - she wasn't jus trying to avoid me or nip at me when I got close. I knew this would work out... Daschunds aren't all that bad once you get past they're tough German exterior. Deep down, all dogs just want to play... some more than others. Me, I LOVE TO PLAY!
Jingle Bells, Batman Smells, Sadie's Having Fun!
Last night I discovered this crazy contraption on the door that makes noise whenever it's opened. Maybe I'll use it to let my owners know I need to potty, but for now.. it's play time.
I DON'T WANA SLEEP!!!
Stalking and Pouncing
Today, my mommy taught me how to stalk and pounce... critical to my hunting skills considering the family ties I have :) . Usually, you'd be scared silly seeing me do this when I'm bigger... but now, you'll giggle at my cuteness. Best part is, I'm not even trying to be cute... this is for reals, I'm being super cereal!
Am I related to Hunter (The Rat Terrier with Toy 'ADD')?
So there's another dog I haven't met yet (but I hear a lot about) that lives in Pittsburgh who I'm told I bear an uncanny resemblance to when it comes to playing with toys. His name is Hunter (the Rat Terrier) and he supposedly has ADD when it comes to toys. He just can't pick one to play with, it's a different one every second... especially when someone keeps grabbing different toys out the toy basket. There's nothing wrong with having a little fun with all of Manchi's toys (she's letting me borrow some), but I guess I should get my attention span under control and focus. But since I'm still a puppy, I'll keep doing whatever I want!

Managing the Steps
Yesterday was a complete failure for me on the steps. I could get my two front paws up on the first step, but after that I was hopeless. I'd look around for my owners and whine like... a little puppy... until they'd come over and pick me up to make it up the three daunting steps. And coming down - don't get me started on how terrifying that was for me! I was so bad with steps, Manchi would bolt for the nearest ones to get away from me whenever we were outside.
But today... oh yea, I got it this time.
Guess I was just a little bloated yesterday from all the water I kept drinking and I just couldn't physically do it. Aha, I think I'm getting it: when I go outside, I use the potty to be able to come back inside - eureka! Haha, I love potty training!

Napping, Moping, and Sleeping
Post bath playtime
I'm a chewer!
Leash? In your dreams!
Today I was introduced to a 'leash,' and I made sure that I let it be know that it is a toy... there's no way someone is dragging me around by the neck! They say I'll learn to love it... well, 'til then, it's just one of my many chew toys.
My first day, everything's new...
My first day meeting the lady of the house, Manchita, and I can honestly say it could've gone MUCH better. We played a little cat and mouse, but I don't think she was too interested in a new puppy in her territory... must be a Daschund thing. Oh well, guess I have no choice but to use my amazing puppy powers to win her over these next few days and earn myself a new friend.
